Currently Reading

I used to be one of those people who was only ever reading one book at a time. I never understood how people could read more than one book at once. Nowadays I always have at least 3 on the go and even more that I’ve started and forgotten about.

So I’m going to go through my Goodreads currently reading and see what I’m working my way through at the moment!

Currently Reading

Wasted: How Misunderstanding Young Britain Threatens Our Future – Georgia Gould

Granted I’m only 6 pages into this book (in fact I’ve not even made it past the introduction yet) but I have very high hopes. I already have a huge amount of respect for Georgia Gould and she seems like my kind of woman. So many people seem to discount or write off young people and as a youth worker it probably won’t shock you to know that this infuriates me.

Just Living: Faith and Community in an Age of Consumerism – Ruth Valerio

I’m 84 pages into this one and I’m very mixed so far. You would never guess it from the book cover but this book is pretty hard going. There is a lot of economics and a lot of theology in this neither of which I’m particularly well read on (yet). I think I’m past the hardest chapter now though so it does seem to have got much easier.

The Slippery Slope – Lemony Snicket

I have no idea what page number I’m on with the book, my bookmark fell out and I have not yet bothered to find my place. I’m slowly but surely making my way through this series and loving it!

The Handmaid’s Tale – Margaret Atwood

I can only guestimate with this book because I’m listening to the audio book but I think I’m around half way through. I’ve read The Handmaid’s Tale once before around 8 years a go but my memory of it is very vague so it feels like reading it for the first time.

Unfortunately these aren’t all the books I’ve begun and not finished. I also have a “To Be Continued” list of all the books I’ve started and the put back on the bookshelf unfinished. I have all the good intentions of finishing them eventually though!

Katherine.
